PayByMy.AI
For WooCommerce store owners

Let AI agents order from your store.

When a shopper asks their AI assistant to place an order, Pay By AI lets that agent check out on your WooCommerce store just like a customer would. Orders land in your usual WooCommerce dashboard. Money settles to your Stripe account. You fulfill and ship exactly as you do today.

This page walks you through installing the plugin and connecting it to your Pay By AI account. It takes about 5 minutes and no code.

Before you start

You'll need a Pay By AI merchant account — that's how we know where to send the money when a sale goes through. If you haven't signed up yet: start your 15-day free trial. You'll get a merchant API key that looks like pbai_mk_.... Keep it somewhere safe — you'll paste it into WooCommerce in Step 3.

STEP 01

Download the plugin

Click the button to download paybyai-for-woocommerce.zip to your computer. That's the whole plugin — no installer, no dependencies.

STEP 02

Install it in WordPress

In your WordPress admin:

  1. Go to Plugins → Add New.
  2. Click Upload Plugin at the top of the page.
  3. Click Choose File and pick the ZIP you just downloaded.
  4. Click Install Now, wait a few seconds, then click Activate Plugin.
If you see a yellow warning saying you need WooCommerce, make sure the WooCommerce plugin is installed and activated first. Pay By AI only adds to WooCommerce — it doesn't replace it.
STEP 03

Paste your Pay By AI key

Now go to WooCommerce → Settings in your WordPress admin. You'll see a new tab at the top called Pay By AI. Click it.

Paste your merchant API key into the field and click Save changes. That's it — your store is now connected.

Behind the scenes, the plugin checks your key with Pay By AI and automatically tells us where to send payment confirmations back to your store. You don't need to configure webhooks, URLs, or anything else.

STEP 04

You're live. Here's what happens next.

When a shopper tells their AI assistant something like “order a large pepperoni from AI Pizza and ship it to me,” here's what you'll see:

  1. The agent browses your products and picks an item — the same way a customer would use your storefront.
  2. A new order appears in WooCommerce → Orders with status Pending payment. The shipping address, email, and any notes are already filled in.
  3. Pay By AI charges the shopper's saved card and sends the funds to your Stripe account (minus Stripe's normal processing fee).
  4. The order flips to Processing automatically. Your fulfillment emails and shipping labels fire off just like any other online sale.

No card numbers touch your WordPress site at any point. Pay By AI and Stripe handle that piece; you never see it, never store it, never have to worry about PCI compliance.

See it working

We run a live demo store called AI Pizza with this exact plugin installed. Eight pizzas, seven locations (including Clarkston, MI), all priced at $1 for demo purchases. You can browse it like a customer or point an AI agent at it to see the end-to-end flow.

Common questions

Does this replace my checkout page?
No. Your regular storefront keeps working exactly as it does today. Pay By AI only adds a second way to buy — one that AI agents can use on behalf of shoppers. Regular customers still click Add to Cart and Checkout the normal way.
Where does the money go?
Straight to your Stripe account. Pay By AI uses Stripe Connect under the hood — the same system Shopify and Substack use. We never hold your money.
Do I pay transaction fees?
You pay Stripe's normal processing fees (around 2.9% + 30¢ in the US). Pay By AI itself is a flat monthly subscription of $29.99 with a 15-day free trial — no per-order cut on top.
What if I stop using Pay By AI?
Deactivate the plugin and AI agents stop being able to check out. Your store is entirely unchanged — product data, orders, customers, Stripe, everything else stays put.
Does this work with variable products, taxes, shipping zones?
Yes. Pay By AI creates a real WooCommerce order, so taxes, shipping calculations, and product variations run the same way they do for a regular checkout.
I got an error saying 'this store is not connected'
That means the plugin couldn't find a valid API key. Double-check Step 3 — go to WooCommerce → Settings → Pay By AI and make sure your key is pasted correctly. If the key was rejected, check whether you're on test or live mode and that it matches (test keys start with pbai_mk_test_, live with pbai_mk_live_).
